How the HALT service works
HALT does not provide direct intervention services itself. HALT operates as a referral and monitoring service as well as a point of collaboration.
Referrals received by HALT come mostly through police reports of family violence. People or agencies can also refer people into the system.
If you would like to use the HALT service please contact us on 06 366 0540 or email: Coordinator@halt.org.nz
HALT, and the network of agencies it represents are here to help. Whether you want to change your violent behaviour, or if you are experiencing violence there are people who can help.
Agencies can provide someone to listen, practical support, counselling, new skills etc. A lot of the services are free or very low cost and the staff are friendly and non-judgmental.
Support is available for all types of family violence, covering a variety of relationships including: husband/wife, child/parent, siblings, boyfriend/girlfriend, and all ages.
